Asst. Chief Engineer

Position summary

Maintenance responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters and operate shut-off valves.
• Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies while maintaining inventory and purchase order logs.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines and record work-related information using computers.
• Complete fire-pump and generator run tests and inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist with disaster response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.

Team and safety responsibilities

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Follow company, safety, and security policies and report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, and injuries.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, guest service standards, and positive working relationships.
• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.

Preferred qualifications

• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is listed as required.

Physical requirements

• The role requires reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• The role requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• The role requires standing, sitting, walking, and moving up and down stairs or service ramps for extended periods.
