Role Overview
The Associate Territory Manager is a field-based apprenticeship role supporting territory development and customer engagement alongside senior sales team members.
The role develops clinical, technical, and commercial skills for a surgical sales career.
The position involves working with surgeons and theatre staff, supporting procedures, and building new business across a territory.
Responsibilities
- Support territory growth through account penetration and stakeholder development.
- Build relationships with surgeons, theatre staff, and hospital personnel.
- Attend procedures in theatre, support product usage, and answer clinical questions.
- Support trials, evaluations, and conversions within account strategies.
- Generate new business through outreach and proactive prospecting.
- Collaborate with sales and cross-functional partners to meet customer needs.
- Manage product availability, consignment stock, and case preparation.
- Communicate customer feedback to R&D, Operations, and Marketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or relevant clinical or allied health education with theatre experience.
- Demonstrated achievement in athletics or team environments, outside sales or business development, or clinical or healthcare settings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational, time-management, and planning skills.
- Ability to learn and apply technical or clinical information and generate opportunities through outreach.
- Ownership, accountability, professionalism, resilience, and effective cross-functional working ability.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
Success Measures
Within three to six months, the associate is expected to support cases in theatre, build account relationships, and contribute to territory activity.
Within the first year, the associate is expected to drive activity in parts of the territory, convert trials and evaluations, and demonstrate readiness for a quota-carrying Territory Manager role.
Success includes clinical competence, reliability in theatre, and earning the trust of surgeons and theatre staff.
Location and Work Arrangement
- This is a field-based role covering a Melbourne, Victoria territory.
- The role involves regular territory travel, driving, periodic overnight travel, and possible participation in an after-hours surgical case support roster.
- A car allowance is provided.
