Permanent Associate Software Engineer role based in Melbourne.
Build applied AI capabilities that help keep REA’s marketplace safe and trusted.

Work across automated detection pipelines, LLM-based evaluation services, APIs, data workflows, and reviewer tools.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and document high-quality software.
- Build AI-powered detection services, APIs, data pipelines, and content moderation tools.
- Maintain systems through feature development, bug fixes, and operational improvements.
- Support production systems, including incident troubleshooting and support or on-call rotations when required.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and stakeholders on technical direction and reliable moderation outcomes.
- Contribute to planning and technical design while considering effort, quality, trade-offs, and maintainability.
- Improve products, technology, processes, and ways of working.
- Keep current with AI and LLM developments and support engineers through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
