Job Overview

  • The Associate Pipeline Engineer utilizes existing Pipeline (Eng) procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
  • They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team.
  • They will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Pipeline (Eng) and Engineering.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring.
  • Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
  • Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.
  • Clearly communicate information, asking questions, and checking for understanding.
  • Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter discipline requirements.
  • Prepare/Review MTOs for requisitions.
  • Review vendor data with guidance from colleagues.
  • Develop awareness of costs related to own work.
  • Become familiar with P&IDs, Line List, Equipment Layouts, Plot Plans, Piping Specifications, and Design Basis.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Special Piping Items and required datasheets.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Piping Material and Valve specification.

Essential Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 0 3 years of experience in oil and gas.
  • Learning the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable.
  • Learning design techniques and analysis methods.
  • Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or member of a professional engineering society as applicable.
  • Eager to learn.
  • Working knowledge of English, both oral and written.
  • HSE, TQM, and cost conscious.
  • Show flexibility and ensure proper hand over with regards to reassignment, replacement, and assistance.
  • Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions.
  • Is familiar with the use of codes and standards.
