Associate Mechanical Engineer - Transport

WSP's Sydney Building Services team is delivering some of Australia's most significant transport infrastructure projects, and we're looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to help lead their successful delivery.

Working within our national Property & Buildings business, you'll play a key leadership role across major transport and infrastructure projects including metro stations, rail precincts, tunnels, depots, airport facilities and associated developments.

You'll join a highly collaborative team of building services specialists delivering technically complex projects that are helping shape the future of Australia's transport networks.

This opportunity is suited to an established consultant who combines strong technical expertise with client leadership, commercial awareness and a passion for developing people.

You'll be empowered to lead major multidisciplinary projects, strengthen client relationships, contribute to business growth and help shape the future direction of our Sydney Building Services business.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of major transport and infrastructure projects from concept through to construction.
• Provide technical leadership across HVAC, ventilation, smoke management and mechanical building services systems.
• Lead large multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to successful project outcomes across complex programs.
• Manage project scope, programme, quality, risk and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, contractors and key project stakeholders.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical governance to ensure quality, compliance and constructability.
• Mentor, coach and develop engineers across the Mechanical discipline and broader Building Services team.
• Support the growth of technical capability through knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Lead proposals, contribute to pursuits and support the securing of future project opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions that create better outcomes and value for clients.
