The Retail Center of Expertise develops and delivers proprietary retail products and solutions.
Projects address category management, COGS optimization, pricing and promotion analytics, and customer analytics.
Projects range from three weeks to six months and may involve global case teams, Bain leadership, or end clients.
What You Will Do
- Build responsive retail web applications with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and ShadCN/UI.
- Integrate front-end applications with Python/FastAPI back ends and REST APIs.
- Optimize performance, accessibility, Core Web Vitals, and cross-browser behavior.
- Support Azure or AWS deployments using Docker, CI/CD, and Git/GitHub.
- Lead Figma-based research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and design QA.
- Create accessible retail user experiences, reusable design systems, and component libraries.
- Use AI-assisted prototyping tools such as v0, Lovable, or Framer to validate concepts.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and consulting teams on scalable user-centered solutions.
About You
- Two to four years of front-end development and UI/UX design experience for web applications or data products.
- React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3, Tailwind CSS, and ShadCN/UI or equivalent component-library proficiency.
- Experience with state management, REST APIs, web performance optimization, and cross-browser testing.
- Strong UI/UX fundamentals and hands-on Figma proficiency, including Auto Layout, components, and variants.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Back-end, cloud deployment, data visualization, consulting, or retail experience is advantageous.
