Key purpose and responsibilities

  • Manage the Mechanical Services team, including recruitment, resourcing, professional development, and engagement.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure team compliance with company quality management and best practice.
  • Oversee calculations, design deliverables, drawings, specifications, reports, site surveys, construction-stage duties, client liaison, project management, and costing.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Chartered Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
  • Track record delivering multidisciplinary projects to a high standard in at least one relevant sector.
  • Considerable experience managing varied teams from apprentices and graduates to principal level.
  • Extensive involvement in bids, proposals, and tender specifications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder relationship, design, technical detailing, and specification-writing skills.
  • Expert design experience in Mechanical Building Services systems, including HVAC and Public Health.
  • Experience using Navisworks and NBS Create or Chorus.

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects across several sectors.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams delivering complex projects.
  • Ability to develop, deploy, and implement strategic vision.
  • Contribution to work-winning activities, bids, tenders, client relationships, or business development.
  • Experience using IES Thermal Modelling, AutoCAD, or Revit.
