The Associate Director, Security Management is a key leadership role responsible for driving security outcomes for a major Federal Government account. As the primary security advisor, you will oversee security strategy, accreditation, risk management, incident response, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to shape Optus' government security services, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and ensure alignment with the Australian Government ISM and PSPF frameworks in a dynamic and highly regulated environment. This role requires you to be an Australian citizen and hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, an NV1 security clearance. What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of Develop and carry out comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures aligned to the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Identify, assess, and manage security risks in line with government regulations and industry guidelines. Provide IT security advisory and management support across active projects — including authoring and reviewing security accreditation artefacts. Act as the trusted security advisor to the customer, engaging at all levels including executive leadership. What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role? Deep experience in IT security management within Australian Government environments. Solid practical understanding of the Australian Government ISM, PSPF, and associated frameworks. Proven ability to manage security accreditation processes and deliver complex security risk assessments. Excellent collaborator management skills — you're confident engaging at the executive level and can negotiate outcomes that work for both the customer and the business. The good stuff....
