Role overview

Location and working pattern

• The role is based at any Survey Solutions nationwide office with hybrid working options available.
• The post holder is predominantly office based and may travel to other offices, operational projects, sites, and management meetings.
• The role may require work outside contracted hours when necessary.

Hours and benefits

• Hours of work are 40 hours per week, usually from 9:00 to 17:30.
• Benefits include 24 days of holiday plus bank holidays, a company car, overtime, and a discretionary Christmas bonus.

Operational leadership

• Oversee operations to ensure technical excellence, timely delivery, and client satisfaction.
• Implement standardized operational procedures and consistent measurement across offices.
• Work with sales and marketing on tendering and proposal development.

Commercial and financial management

• Manage the department P&L, revenue growth, cost control, and profitability targets.
• Increase productivity and utilization rates to maximize operational efficiency.
• Report financial figures, performance metrics, and operational risks to senior leadership.

Strategic and client development

• Implement a regional growth strategy, identify new market opportunities, and expand existing accounts.
• Build relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders and represent the company at industry events.
• Provide quotations and briefings for rail monitoring and rail engineering projects.

Team and compliance leadership

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing department team.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.
• Uphold data integrity, environmental responsibility, staff welfare, and ethical business practices.
