Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
• Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent are preferred.

Work Experience

• Minimum 12–15 years of overall experience in MEP design and engineering.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role within MEP design.
• Proven experience in Maldives projects, particularly in resorts, hospitality, or island developments is essential.
• Strong exposure in High-rise buildings, Hotels and resorts, Mixed-use developments, Commercial and industrial projects

Technical Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of:
• Mechanical Systems – HVAC (Chilled Water, VRF/VRV, ventilation, smoke control)
• Electrical Systems – Power distribution, lighting, earthing, generators, UPS
• ELV Systems – CCTV, access control, fire alarm, BMS, structured cabling
• Plumbing Systems – Water supply, drainage, sewage treatment, stormwater
• Fire Protection Systems – Sprinkler systems, hydrants, fire detection & suppression
• Strong familiarity with international standards and codes:
• ASHRAE

• NFPA (National Fire Protection Association (NFPA))

• IEC / BS standards
• Proficiency in design and coordination tools:
• AutoCAD
• Revit (BIM)
• Strong hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling using:

• MS Project (mandatory)

• Primavera P6 (preferred / added advantage)

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete MEP design function across multiple projects, ensuring delivery from concept to IFC stage.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, ELV, and Fire Protection systems.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of all design deliverables including drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure all MEP designs comply with international standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
• Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration with architectural, structural, and external stakeholders.
• Manage project planning and scheduling using MS Project (and Primavera P6 as an added advantage), ensuring timely delivery of design milestones.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines and quality.
• Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, efficiency, and system performance without compromising quality.
• Provide technical support during tendering, procurement, and construction stages, including review of shop drawings and material submittals.
• Ensure proper integration of sustainable and energy-efficient design practices across all MEP systems.
• Oversee design considerations specific to Maldives projects, including island logistics, desalination systems, corrosion protection, and energy optimization.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities for approvals and project coordination.
• Establish and enforce QA/QC procedures for all MEP design activities.
• Conduct regular design reviews, audits, and performance evaluations of the design team.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the MEP design team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
• Ensure effective communication and reporting on project status, risks, and deliverables to senior management
• The selected candidate should be available to work in Maldives location.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
