Support cloud customers and perform software installation, configuration, systems analysis, technical customer support, and systems administration.
The role supports SaaS server technologies in a multi-cloud environment under the direction of a Cloud Operations Manager or Technical Lead.
About PowerSchool
PowerSchool provides cloud-based K-12 software supporting schools, educators, students, and families.
The Hosting team manages infrastructure from hardware and operating systems through PowerSchool products while protecting customer data.
Responsibilities
- Triage, investigate, and resolve reported incidents.
- Troubleshoot application, user account, and application access issues.
- Perform daily systems administration and verify system availability.
- Install and configure software in cloud environments to ensure high availability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot applications for availability, performance, and responsiveness.
- Operate and maintain production orchestration routines.
- Complete application updates and software version upgrades.
- Install and configure new customer environments.
- Support product development teams with continuous integration and deployment templates and patterns.
- Perform root cause analysis and preventative remediation for infrastructure, configuration, environment, and deployment issues.
- Perform basic database monitoring and troubleshoot database performance issues.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance, emergency response, customer calls, and 24/7 on-call rotations as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years or less of relevant and related work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud is preferred.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases is preferred.
- Familiarity with configuration management and orchestration technologies.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Familiarity with operating system administration.
- Ability to manage heavy workloads, multiple projects, and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure Cloud certification is preferred.
On-Call Schedule
- The position is subject to company on-call policies and may require work outside normal business hours.
- Participation in 24/7 on-call support and shift rotations may be required.
