About the Role
A confidential UAE real estate developer is seeking an Assistant Vice President - Collections.
The role leads and optimizes end-to-end collections across the property portfolio.
The role reports to the CFO, leads a team of 7 to 8, and owns cash flow maximization, delinquency reduction, and credit governance.
Collections Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement a collections strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and scale the collections team to improve performance and accountability.
- Establish KPIs for collections efficiency, recovery rates, and aging targets.
Receivables and Recovery
- Oversee invoicing follow-ups, payment plans, recovery actions, and the full receivables lifecycle.
- Monitor aging reports and act proactively on overdue accounts.
- Drive reductions in DSO and delinquency rates.
Customer and Stakeholder Management
- Manage high-value and sensitive accounts, including settlement and restructuring negotiations.
- Partner with Sales, Leasing, Property Management, and Finance.
- Maintain professional, on-brand customer communication.
Policy, Compliance, and Risk
- Establish and enforce credit control policies, procedures, and approval frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and internal governance standards.
- Work with Legal on escalations, disputes, and litigation.
Reporting and Analytics
- Report to senior management on collections performance, risks, and forecasts.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, predict risk, and improve collection strategy.
- Build dashboards and automation to improve visibility and control.
Process Improvement and Digitization
- Drive automation through ERP and CRM integration.
- Re-engineer processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Introduce industry best practices and benchmarks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; a master's degree is advantageous.
- 12 to 15 years of experience in collections or credit control.
- Real estate or property development experience is preferred.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing large portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of the UAE real estate market, payment structures, and legal frameworks.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, stakeholder management, financial, and analytical skills.
- Professional-level fluency in English and high professional integrity.
