Job Purpose
The Assistant to the Group Head of Manufacturing & Technical will support the Group Head in coordinating and monitoring the operational and technical performance of the Group’s manufacturing entities across different countries.
The role will assist in tracking operational KPIs, following up on production performance, quality standards, technical initiatives, cost optimization, and continuous improvement projects across the Group’s manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Group Head of Manufacturing & Technical in implementing the Group’s technical and operational strategy across all manufacturing entities.
- Support the monitoring of operational KPIs for different entities, including production efficiency, productivity, waste reduction, quality performance, downtime, cost control, and overall factory performance.
- Collect, review, and consolidate KPI reports from various manufacturing sites and highlight areas requiring attention or improvement.
- Follow up with plant managers and technical teams on agreed action plans, timelines, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying operational gaps, technical issues, and process inefficiencies across different production facilities.
- Support the implementation and standardization of SOPs, manufacturing processes, and best practices across the Group’s operations.
- Assist in monitoring quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry expectations.
- Support technical evaluations related to machinery, production equipment, maintenance requirements, and operational suitability.
- Coordinate with the Group Technical Center on product development, technical support, manufacturing innovation, and troubleshooting matters.
- Prepare reports, presentations, analysis, and updates for the Group Head, CEO, and senior management as required.
- Assist in tracking factory performance, production planning, efficiency improvement projects, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support the coordination of technical visits, factory assessments, audits, and follow-up actions across the Group’s entities.
- Work closely with local plant teams to ensure timely reporting, proper data accuracy, and alignment with Group expectations.
- Assist in identifying operational risks and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Operations, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within the tobacco industry.
- Experience supporting or managing production KPIs, factory performance reports, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, production efficiency, quality control, and maintenance coordination.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review operational data and identify performance gaps.
- Strong reporting, communication, and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and KPI reporting tools.
- Fluency in English is required; French is an advantage.
- Ability to travel across Africa and work in a fast-paced, multi-country environment.
Remuneration Package
- **AED 25,000 per month**
