Assistant Store Manager - Steve Madden

Position Objective

Sales and Store Operations

• Maintain customer focus and lead by example in customer service.
• Achieve or exceed sales targets and ensure staff understand KPIs and goals.
• Implement promotions and sales strategies to maximize revenue.
• Audit store administration and implement procedural changes.
• Monitor sales performance and analyze KPIs.
• Oversee inventory, stock checks, replenishment, and product availability.

Presentation and Team Management

• Maintain store layout, visual merchandising, brand presentation, and retail standards.
• Manage back-store operations and merchandise replenishment.
• Schedule staff work hours, vacations, days off, and leave.
• Address staff concerns, provide performance feedback, and counsel employees when needed.
• Support team goal setting and maintain staff participation.

Security and Conduct

• Ensure store security procedures are followed and maintain awareness of stock and money security.
• Carry out corrective action or progressive discipline when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and employment-related information.
• Demonstrate dependability, reliability, punctuality, integrity, and ethical decision-making.

Desired Experience

• 3+ years of progressive experience in a customer-centric role with strong management experience is desired.
• Proven success in improving customer engagement and achieving or exceeding store sales KPI targets is desired.
• A bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field is preferred.
