Key skills for this role
Glass Doctor of North Texas is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager who takes pride in a well-run shop. You're the backbone that keeps materials flowing, inventory accurate, and every IGU (insulated glass unit) built right — so our glaziers can show up to every job with exactly what they need.
If you're organized, hands-on, and like knowing where everything is and why — this is your shop.
Load and unload glass, materials, and equipment for daily installs and deliveries
Check in incoming glass shipments using our inventory software and verify orders against POs
Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory counts across raw glass, hardware, and supplies
Coordinate and handle deliveries — incoming and outgoing
Assist in the fabrication of IGUs (insulated glass units), including prepping materials, sealing, and quality checks
Keep the shop organized, safe, and audit-ready
Support the Shop Manager with day-to-day operations and jump in wherever the shop needs a hand
Help troubleshoot inventory discrepancies before they become job-site problems
Experience in a warehouse, shop, or manufacturing environment (glass or construction industry a plus)
Comfort with physical work — lifting, loading, and moving glass and materials safely
Basic computer skills and comfort learning inventory/shop management software
Strong attention to detail — a miscounted or mislabeled piece of glass costs time and money
