Job summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports restaurant, bar, and room service operations where applicable.
The role assists with daily supervision, menu planning, sanitation, employee development, guest satisfaction, and operational performance.
Education and experience
- A high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant food and beverage, culinary, or related professional experience is accepted.
- Alternatively, a 2-year degree in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or a related major plus 2 years of relevant experience is accepted.
Restaurant team management
- Handle employee questions and concerns.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback based on service observations.
- Assist with daily shift supervision.
- Supervise restaurant operations in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.
- Communicate departmental goals in meetings.
Daily operations
- Ensure employees have appropriate supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
