About the Role
Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Assistant Psychologist to support psychological care in Brent. Requires graduate membership of BPS and experience with mental health problems.

Responsibilities
- Undertake protocol based psychological assessment of clients, including neuropsychological tests, self report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi structured interviews
- Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving psychological treatment and/or management of client's problems under supervision
- Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups
- Work with other staff to assess community, day patients or residents and review their care in preparation for multi disciplinary reviews
- Assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care for all clients
- Attend and contribute to appropriate multi disciplinary meetings
- Provide support in monitoring clients on waiting lists for assessment and treatment
- Support the psychology team in project evaluation
Requirements
- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
- Work with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities
- High level of communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to communicate in highly emotive settings
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers and colleagues
- An understanding of trauma informed care approach
- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities
- An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a mental health context
- An understanding of psychology applied to health care
- Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively

- Support and enhance professional psychological care of clients within Brent Integrated Psychology and Psychotherapy Service
- Provide psychological assessment and interventions under supervision of a qualified psychologist
