Role overview
The Assistant Program Coordinator supports community recreation programs and events at təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre and Queensborough Community Centre.
The role reports to and works in collaboration with Program Coordinators.
The position has one opening and covers Parks and Recreation facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assess community needs and make recommendations for programs and services.
- Assist in planning, promoting, implementing, and evaluating community events and recreation programs.
- Supervise front-line workers and program staff.
- Provide building supervision and operational support.
- Build effective communication and working relationships with staff and community partners.
- Support registration, payment processing, promotions, budgets, reports, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Recreation or a related field with practical leadership, supervision, and recreation programming experience, or an equivalent combination.
- Knowledge of recreation services, applicable policies, regulations, and standards.
- Experience supervising staff and volunteers and applying teaching methods and group leadership techniques.
