- Contribute to the design and delivery of the curriculum in the programme

- Provide effective, well documented, and timely feedback to students
- Contribute to monitoring quality of learning and teaching through course monitoring
- Provide appropriate pastoral support to students
- Stay abreast of developments in architectural engineering education
- Develop further opportunities for student placements, internship and student mentoring
- Conduct assessment and moderation across the discipline area
Requirements
- Internationally recognized honors degree in Engineering
- PhD in Sustainability, Energy, Low Carbon Buildings, or a relevant discipline
- Previous teaching experience and a commitment to the student experience
- Demonstrable teamwork and communication skills
- Professional accreditation from CIBSE or relevant UK Engineering Council body is desirable

- The Institute of Sustainable Built Environment (ISBE) conducts pioneering research aimed at driving technological innovation and shaping government policy on critical global challenges.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver existing teaching materials authored or co developed with the senior course leader at the Edinburgh campus, across a range of UG and/or PG modules within the general subject areas of thermal performance, energy systems, and low carbon buildings.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of the curriculum in the programme.
- Develop and teach a number of courses appropriate to your area of expertise.
- Undertake scholarly activity related to the effective delivery of the curriculum and maintain subject expertise.
- Be responsible for providing effective, well documented, and timely feedback, both formative and summative, to students.
- Contribute to the monitoring of the quality of learning and teaching through course monitoring.
- Provide appropriate pastoral support recognising the varied cultural backgrounds of the student cohorts.
- Stay abreast of developments in architectural engineering education and ensure that these developments are reflected in the evolution of the learning and teaching methods.
- Work with the team to develop further opportunities for student placements, Internship and student mentoring.
- Conduct assessment and moderation across the discipline area, ensuring this is rigorous, fair and clear.
Qualifications and Experience
- Internationally recognized honors degree in Engineering.
- PhD in Sustainability, Energy, Low Carbon Buildings, or a relevant discipline.
- Professional accreditation from CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers) or a relevant UK Engineering Council body is desirable.
- Previous teaching experience and a commitment to the student experience are essential.
- Evidence of innovation in teaching delivery is desirable.
- Demonstrable teamwork and communication skills.
