Key skills for this role
• Own end-to-end ORT failure analysis from failure identification → FA → root cause → corrective action → closure.
• Review ORT failures, identify abnormal trends, prioritize critical failures, and drive timely disposition.
• Follow FA flow, test sequence, teardown methodology, measurement requirements, and confirmation tests based on failure mode.
• Lead RCA using 5 Why, Fishbone, DOE, Fault Tree, Pareto, correlation analysis and 8D/RCCA methodologies.
• Drive CFT with Quality, Engineering, Process, Material, SQM, TEMD, TEHR, Vendor and Customer teams for failure resolution.
• Track ORT failure rate, DPPM, failure mode distribution, recurrence, product/model/vendor trends and severity.
• Ensure immediate containment for critical failures, including suspect lot identification, segregation, additional screening and risk assessment.
• Verify effectiveness of CA/PA and ensure recurrence prevention through process, material, design or test improvements.
• Analyse reliability data statistically using Pareto, trend charts, box plots, distribution, CPK, correlation and hypothesis testing where applicable.
• Monitor FA TAT and ensure critical failures are analysed and dispositioned within the agreed timeline.
• Drive supplier/vendor FA for material or component-related failures and validate vendor corrective actions with evidence.
• Establish ORT FA readiness for new products, including FA methodology, equipment, fixtures, sample flow, specifications and escalation criteria.
• Prepare concise and fact-based ORT FA reports for customer reviews, highlighting Failure → Evidence → Root Cause → CA/PA → Validation
