Assistant Manager - Procurement (Raw Material)

Import Procurement

• Manage import purchase orders from overseas suppliers through customs clearance and warehouse delivery.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHAs, shipping lines, Finance, and overseas suppliers.
• Handle import invoices, packing lists, bills of lading or airway bills, certificates of origin, and food-import clearance documents.
• Track import duty, GST, FSSAI and DGFT requirements, payment terms, letters of credit, and foreign-currency exposure.
• Calculate landed cost including freight, duty, insurance, and clearance charges.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience specifically in raw-material or ingredient procurement.
• Working knowledge of ingredient specifications, quality documentation, COAs, and moisture content.
• Understanding of agricultural commodity seasonality, harvest cycles, and price volatility.
• Familiarity with FSSAI norms and food-safety compliance, or willingness to learn quickly.
• Comfort with costing, negotiation, Excel or Sheets, and quantitative analysis.
• Strong communication skills and the judgment to reject nonconforming materials.

Preferred Experience

• Food, nutraceutical, or FMCG manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to import procurement, Incoterms, import documentation, or freight forwarders and CHAs is a strong plus.
• A genuine interest in food and ingredients is expected; a food technologist background is not required.
