Role Overview

  • Assistant Manager Internal Audit. Experience in Insurance Company preferred.
  • Overall, your duties will include studying accounting records, preparing compliance reports and supervising company procedures and workflows.
  • It will also include monitoring, assessing and analyzing organizational risk and controls and reviewing & confirming information to ensure that DIN is in compliance with the rules stipulated by the Corporate Governance Laws and the Central Bank UAE.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determining the internal audit scope and developing the annual audit plans, in line with the DIN’s policies and principles and as per the scope prescribed by the Central Bank for the AML/CFT, Financial, Operational, QMS KPI Verification and Risk Management Audits
  • Establishing and implementing a risk based audit plan for the year
  • Evaluating the financial documents for accuracy and compliance with federal regulations
  • Identifying control weaknesses and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls in regard to operational efficiency & accuracy
  • Identifying the financial risk of the organization and offer recommendations to reduce risk
  • Providing risk management support to optimize efficiency by identifying possible noncompliance and areas of higher risk or significance
  • Preparing quarterly audit reports and presenting the findings to the Chairman Audit Committee & to the CEO
  • Preparing the AML/CFT Compliance Reports, Financial, Operational & Risk Management Reports to submit to the Central Bank UAE as per stipulations
  • Monitor remediation of audit findings and track progress

Desired Qualifications & Certifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance
  • Essential qualifications include certification in CIA /CPA/ ACA
  • Additionally, CISA / CFE would be considered an advantage

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role, preferably in internal audit in UAE Insurance industry
  • Expert knowledge of international auditing standards, risk management, internal control, and stipulations of regulatory authorities
  • Strong analytical thinking, leadership, communication skills to engage senior stakeholders
