Position Details

Human Resources role at the Marriott property on Al Corniche Street in Doha, Qatar.

The schedule is full time and the position is not remote.

The position supports daily HR activities, employee services, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures.

Recruitment and Hiring

  • Assist with interviewing and hiring HR team members.
  • Maintain contact with external recruitment sources and attend job fairs.
  • Network with local organizations to source candidates.
  • Monitor candidate identification and selection and perform quality control.

Benefits and Claims

  • Respond to unemployment claims and review provider reports for accuracy.
  • Prepare unemployment claim activity reports and attend hearings as needed.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims and periodic claims reviews.

Employee Development

  • Assist with departmental orientation and new-hire training.
  • Coordinate and facilitate orientation programs and ensure new-hire attendance.
  • Ensure employees are cross-trained and leadership participates in training programs.

Employee Relations

  • Maintain employee communication channels and support property-wide meetings.
  • Review progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Acknowledge employee concerns and refer issues for resolution or escalation.
  • Assist with employee accident investigations and communicate performance expectations.

Legal and Compliance Practices

  • Maintain required employment, performance management, and compensation documentation in employee files.
  • Support secure employee-file access, review, auditing, and Privacy Act compliance.
  • Maintain medical records separately in secure and confidential files.
  • Facilitate applicable drug testing and communicate property rules, safety, and security policies.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED plus two years of relevant human resources, management operations, or related professional experience.
  • Alternatively, a two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major with no work experience required.
