Role Overview

Group Bayport is hiring an Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager for EXIM operations.

The role independently manages export, import, and cross-trade operations across domestic and international business activities.

The position is within Supply Chain and Logistics – International Trade Operations.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements

  • Candidates must have hands-on experience in both export and import operations; export-only profiles will not be considered.
  • Practical experience with third-country, cross-trade, or merchanting trade is required.
  • Experience with sea freight is required, while air freight experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping bills, bills of entry, bills of lading or AWBs, certificates of origin, invoices, packing lists, and customs documents is required.
  • Working knowledge of SEZ/DTA operations and customs procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of HS classification, valuation, Incoterms 2020, DGFT, and FEMA requirements is required.
  • Experience managing freight forwarders, customs house agents, and overseas agents is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, coordination, and MS Excel/MIS skills are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage export and import operations from shipment booking to delivery and documentation closure.
  • Handle sea and air shipments, including FCL/LCL operations, with freight forwarders, customs house agents, and overseas agents.
  • Prepare and verify invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, bills of lading or AWBs, certificates of origin, insurance, and related documents.
  • Coordinate customs classification, valuation, filing, examination, and shipment clearance.
  • Manage imports for SEZ/DTA operations and handle third-country or cross-trade shipments.
  • Monitor Incoterms, EXIM regulations, demurrage, detention, and free time.
  • Evaluate logistics partners, verify invoices, coordinate settlements, and maintain shipment MIS.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Finance, Customer Experience, and overseas teams.

Education and Preferred Background

  • A graduate degree in any discipline is required.
  • A postgraduate qualification in international business, foreign trade, or supply chain is preferred.
  • Customs or trade certification is an advantage.
  • Experience in freight forwarding, NVOCC, customs house agency, corporate EXIM, international trade, manufacturing, export-oriented organizations, SEZ, EOU, or bonded warehouses is relevant.
  • Marketplace or retail partner logistics experience is an advantage.
