Role Overview

The role is Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager for Credit Control.

The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and focuses on receivables, collections, credit exposure, reconciliations, and reporting.

Receivables and Collections

  • Manage the order-to-cash and accounts receivable cycle for assigned customers.
  • Monitor balances, due dates, credit limits, payment trends, DSO, DPO, and working capital.
  • Set collection targets, prepare forecasts, follow up on overdue invoices, and escalate critical accounts.
  • Maintain customer relationships and resolve payment commitments, disputes, deductions, and billing issues.

Reconciliation and Reporting

  • Reconcile TDS deductions, Form 26AS credits, customer accounts, receipts, credit notes, and debit notes.
  • Prepare AR ageing, DSO, collection, bad debt, TDS receivable, and customer overdue reports.
  • Analyze payment behavior, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to management.

Overseas and Freight Forwarding

  • Coordinate with overseas offices, agents, international partners, and internal teams on outstanding balances.
  • Follow up on overseas receivables and reconcile customer or agent accounts.
  • Resolve shipment-related billing issues and monitor freight, handling, documentation, customs, and other service charges.
  • Coordinate with operations, customer service, sales, and documentation teams.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and credit control.
  • Understanding of DSO, DPO, ageing analysis, and working capital.
  • Strong follow-up, collection, communication, negotiation, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
  • Ability to coordinate across sales, operations, finance, and overseas teams.

Qualification and Experience

  • B.Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 3–7 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, or finance.
  • Experience with domestic and overseas customers or agents is advantageous.
  • ERP or accounting systems knowledge and advanced Excel are preferred.

Compensation

  • Pay is ₹40,000–₹65,000 per month.
