Role Overview
Lead the Basic Structure team and deliver timely, quality structural engineering work.
Act as technical lead for structural design projects across newbuild and retrofit work.
Team Management
- Build team capability through structured training and mentoring.
- Coordinate workload priorities and allocate tasks with central technical functions.
- Supervise graduate and junior structural engineers in project and professional development.
- Monitor project baselines, departmental productivity, and team and software utilization.
Structural Engineering
- Develop structural design concepts and arrangements for newbuild and retrofit projects.
- Perform global and local strength, buckling, and finite element structural calculations.
- Prepare and review structural general arrangements, scantlings, foundation details, and support structures.
- Ensure compliance with classification society rules such as DNV, ABS, and LR and with international regulations.
Coordination and Business Support
- Provide structural input for technical proposals and feasibility studies for the business development team.
