Assistant Librarian

The Assistant Librarian is responsible for supporting the efficient management and day-to-day operations of the library by ensuring the effective organization, maintenance, and accessibility of library resources.

The role involves managing library systems, assisting users, maintaining digital and physical collections, conducting library orientation programs, and supporting administrative activities to provide high-quality library services.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the library and ensure smooth functioning of all library services.
• Maintain and update the library collection, including books, journals, periodicals, e-resources, and other learning materials according to accreditation norms.
• Perform cataloguing, classification, accessioning, indexing, and shelving of library resources as per standard library practices.
• Manage the Library Management System (LMS) and ensure accurate maintenance of library databases and records.
• Issue, return, renew, and maintain records of library materials.
• Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating and accessing library resources, both physical and digital.
• Conduct library orientation and user education programs for new students and faculty members.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement of books, journals, subscriptions, and other library resources.
• Ensure proper maintenance, preservation, and stock verification of library resources.
