Assistant General Manager

Role Overview

Restaurant Operations

• Support the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
• Work hands-on during service, lead from the floor, and maintain operational standards.
• Supervise and motivate the front-of-house team and ensure consistently high customer service.
• Manage service flow and resolve guest issues professionally.
• Support staff training, development, and performance.

Management Duties

• Help manage rotas, stock, ordering, and operational procedures.
• Monitor health and safety, hygiene, and company standards.
• Support sales achievement and cost control.
• Take responsibility for the restaurant when senior management is absent.

Candidate Profile

• Previous supervisory, management, or Assistant General Manager experience within hospitality is required.
• Candidates should be confident leading busy services and working hands-on alongside the team.
• Strong communication, leadership, organisation, reliability, proactivity, and decision-making under pressure are required.
• Commercial awareness of sales, costs, and profitability is required.
• The successful candidate should be ambitious and want to progress into a General Manager position.

Compensation

• Pay is £47,000 to £50,000 per year.
