Role Overview
The co-op Assistant CNC Operator supports manufacturing operations that contribute to a safer and more reliable electrical grid.
The role provides hands-on experience in a dynamic, safety-focused manufacturing environment.
Schedule and Work Term
- The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., totaling 38 hours per week.
- The work term is Winter 2027, from January through April, for four months.
Compensation
- The hourly pay range is $21.50 to $29.40.
- The position includes a $1 shift premium per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machines according to work orders and specifications.
- Move materials and finished products using pump trucks, cranes, and lift devices as required.
- Monitor machine operation, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems.
- Manufacture and inspect parts according to quality standards, target plans, and required quantities.
- Optimize machine operating time and assist with afternoon-shift production planning.
- Maintain production boards, workplace cleanliness, and organizational practices.
