Role Description

  • This is a full time, on site Assistant Chief Steward role based in Dubai.
  • Support overall stewardship operations, including supervising stewarding staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring all back of house areas, kitchens, and storage spaces are clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Assist in overseeing the maintenance and correct use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Help implement standard operating procedures for dishwashing, waste management, and inventory control of stewarding supplies.
  • Collaborate closely with the culinary and food & beverage teams to support smooth service, timely setup, and efficient turnaround of china, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
  • Train and guide stewarding team members, monitor performance, and support cost control initiatives while maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and guest focused mindset.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with kitchen, food & beverage, and stewarding teams.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage operations and back of house support processes.
  • Experience in training and coaching team members, including on hygiene, safety, and standard operating procedures.
  • Background in food service environments such as hotels, resorts, or high volume restaurants.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation regulations applicable to hotel kitchens and stewarding operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, organize tasks, and manage time in a fast paced environment.
  • Previous experience in stewarding or a similar supervisory role in hospitality is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting, inventory updates, and communication are an advantage.
  • Diploma or vocational training in Hospitality Management or a related field is beneficial.
