Responsibilities
- Secure competitive tonnages for long or short period terms and optimize vessels’ TCEs, with a focus on the Atlantic region.
- Identify appropriate vessels and/or cargoes, acquire and manage them by carrying out relevant negotiations, voyage estimations, and finalizing C/P terms and details.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to follow up on any claims and/or disputes arising from Atlantic voyages.
- Manage, monitor, supervise, and coordinate COAs to optimize overall earnings.
- Support the Chartering & Operations Team and/or Chief Executive Officer in market coverage and forecasting for the Atlantic dry bulk market.
- Report key happenings, results, changes, and anomalies to Management.

- 5+ years in shipping, commercial and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Economics, Business or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in dry bulk chartering of an international shipping company

Role Description
- To provide high level support to the Senior Chartering Manager in managing and executing chartering activities within the Atlantic region.
Core Responsibilities
- Secure competitive tonnages for long or short period terms and optimize vessels’ TCEs, with a focus on the Atlantic region.
- Identify appropriate vessels and/or cargoes, acquire and manage them by carrying out relevant negotiations, voyage estimations, and finalizing C/P terms and details.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to follow up on any claims and/or disputes arising from Atlantic voyages.
- Manage, monitor, supervise, and coordinate COAs to optimize overall earnings.
- Support the Chartering & Operations Team and/or Chief Executive Officer in market coverage and forecasting for the Atlantic dry bulk market.

People Management Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a strong network of clients and service providers.
- Manage and coordinate COA activities, ensuring team collaboration for optimal results.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Grow the Company’s commercial activities and contribute to building a profitable commercial business.
- Drive the development of the Company’s commercial business and long term growth.
- Plan and map out the acquisition of new COAs, spot cargoes, and identify potential business opportunities.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and controlling the profit and loss of the business unit.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in shipping, commercial and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Economics, Business or a related field (preferred).
- Proven and extensive experience in shipping establishment in dry bulk chartering of an international shipping / ship operating company
Competencies
- Expert in Dry Bulk Chartering Operations, including Voyage and Time Charter Agreements.
- Excellent knowledge of Maritime Economics, Shipping Law, Dry Bulk Charter Parties, Dry Bulk Shipping Chartering and Operations, Charterers P&I and Defense cover and its requirements.
- Strong understanding of freight markets, and commodity trading.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- A good understanding of the principles of FFA is preferable.
