Responsibilities
- Support the Appliance Buyer with management of the home appliances category including assortment planning, purchasing, supplier relationships, merchandise allocation, managing inventory levels, and business analytics
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including marketing for product campaigns and promotions
- Stay informed about the most recent trends and advancements in technology
- Coordinate Drop Ship / On line business
- Track and solicit all earned sell through allowances, Co op allowances, Volume Rebates etc. to maximize profitability and ROI
- Foster and maintain positive relations with all Departments and associates
- Ensure Product Knowledge is made available to sales associates and vendor supports E learning requirements
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of the latest industry trends in home appliances
- Experience supporting the procurement of home appliances including washers, dryers, fridges, ranges, dishwashers, small appliances
- Previous category management experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment
- Willingness to demonstrate values of accountability, service, integrity and innovation
- Enthusiasm for organization, goal setting, problem solving and project management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills: proficiency with Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Leon’s is currently looking for an Assistant Appliance Category Manager/Buyer ON to join our merchandising team.
About Us
- Leon’s Furniture has locations from coast to coast, is Canadian owned, and has a rich history spanning over 110 years.
Responsibilities
- Support the Appliance Buyer with management of the home appliances category that includes assortment planning, purchasing, supplier relationships, merchandise allocation, managing inventory levels, and business analytics.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including marketing for product campaigns and promotions.
- Must stay informed about the most recent trends and advancements in technology.
- Demonstrate initiative, meticulous attention to detail, innovative troubleshooting skills and passion for electronics.
- Drop Ship / On line business coordination.
- Tracking and soliciting all earned sell through allowances, Co op allowances, Volume Rebates &c. in a timely manner to ensure the category maximizes profitability and ROI.
- Fostering and maintaining positive relations with all Departments, as well as all associates you have contact with in our Stores and Home Office.
- Ensuring Product Knowledge is made available to all sales associates in a timely manner and that the vendor supports our E learning requirements as well as offer in store sales support to our sales associates.
- Other duties and responsibilities which may be directed by Leon’s to perform from time to time.
Requirements
