What you’ll do
Reporting to the Agribusiness Manager, the Assistant Agribusiness Manager is responsible for assisting in providing strategic direction and leadership within the Ag department. The Assistant Agribusiness Manager must effectively and efficiently assist with the development and direction of the Ag/Energy Team to drive the growth of revenue and productivity, along with promoting high quality guest satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations.
- Assist Agribusiness Manager in the development and achievement of financial results and facility budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses, and profits.
- Participate in and implement strategies brought forth by the Agribusiness Manager areas of budget and corrective action.
- Assist Agribusiness Manager in analyzing appropriate staff and scheduling levels to meet requirements of the department.
- Work alongside the Agribusiness Manager in handling customer enquiries and complaints and managing them within an appropriate manner.
- Assist in administrative requirements and ensure they are completed and submitted to the office to standard according to established guidelines.
- Assist the Agribusiness Manager in ensuring staff are effectively identifying areas for improvement to ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction across all levels of responsibility.
- Participate in the execution of promotions including having promotional merchandise and POP material during the promotion period and ensuring that all staff are familiar with the promotional details and are promoting the products in it.
Who you are:
To be successful, you will have:
- Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or Agribusiness preferred; or an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered
- 3-6 years’ experience in a retail environment with 1 year of Supervisory or Leadership experience; Agro product knowledge and experience preferred
- Hold a current class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract and the ability to travel across our trading areas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook and Excel) and ability to manage computer files efficiently is required
- Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges and/or obstacles
- A clear and solid understanding of and adherence to personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the department
- Experience in developing relationships with external and internal customers on complex issues and transactions
- Experience with coaching, developing and providing day-to-day direction and guidance, including performance management, training and development and providing feedback to other team members
- Ability to provide guidance to team members in the interpretation and application of policies, practices and procedures.
- Ability to control operational costs, maximize operational efficiency, and improve sales and growth margin
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with departments, divisions, key business partners and customers
