Position Overview
Loblaw is hiring a full-time Asset Protection Representative at Zehrs 124 Clair Rd E in Guelph, Ontario.
The role protects people and property in high-volume grocery and pharmacy settings while reducing theft and fraud.
The position requires open availability based on store hours, including evenings and weekends.
What You Will Do
- Prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations by maintaining a visible and professional presence in the store.
- Safely and lawfully detain offenders while following company and legal procedures.
- Conduct internal and external investigations, gather and analyze evidence, and work with law enforcement when required.
- Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement prevention strategies.
- Support compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations.
- Work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule and changing challenges.
What You Will Bring
- A valid provincial security guard license and understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, the Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
- Experience with CCTV, surveillance tools, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- An approachable, confident, respectful, trustworthy, accountable, and proactive professional approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Previous grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail experience is an asset.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates aged 18 or older must complete a criminal background check.
- The role requires availability for evenings and weekends according to store hours.
Compensation
- The hiring range is $21.00 per hour, with pay potentially influenced by experience, knowledge, and geographic region.
