- Create clear, compelling content that supports Global Peace Chain’s peacebuilding initiatives, including articles, blog posts, reports, social media content, and event summaries
- Research peace related topics, interview stakeholders or ambassadors when needed, and draft stories that highlight community impact and organizational activities
- Collaborate with program, communications, and outreach teams to ensure consistent messaging across campaigns, events, and digital platforms
- Proofread and edit materials, adapting content for different audiences
- Meet deadlines for organizational publications and communications
Requirements
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for articles, reports, and digital content
- Experience in research, including gathering information from interviews, publications, and community sources
- Ability to adapt writing style for websites, social media, newsletters, and formal documents
- Familiarity with peacebuilding, human rights, or community development topics, or interest in learning about them
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse, multicultural teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Comfort working on site in Harare and engaging with local communities, events, and stakeholders
- Proficiency with basic office and collaboration tools (e.g., word processing, shared drives, email, and conferencing platforms)
- Previous experience in nonprofit, NGO, or advocacy work is an advantage but not required

Role Description
- This is a full time, on site Writer role based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
- The Writer will create clear, compelling content that supports Global Peace Chain’s peacebuilding initiatives, including articles, blog posts, reports, social media content, and event summaries.
