Asphalt Screed Operator

Operate Screed Controls: Manage the screed controls to ensure the proper depth, grade, and finish of asphalt and other paving materials.

Monitor Material Flow: Ensure a consistent and even flow of material from the hopper to the screed, adjusting as necessary to maintain a smooth surface.

Quality Control: Continuously monitor the paving process to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications and standards.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the screed and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.

Communication: Work closely with the paving crew, foreman, and project superintendent to coordinate efforts and ensure project timelines are met.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the paving process to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.

Other job duties as assigned per on-site supervisor.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Screed Operator in paving operations.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of paving techniques, materials, and equipment operation.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating screed controls and performing basic equipment maintenance.

Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain precise control over the screed to achieve the desired finish and quality.

Physical Stamina: Capability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting and reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Testing : Must pass a drug and physical test and criminal background.
