About the internship
The internship focuses on a computer-vision quality-control pipeline between robot-arm teleoperation recordings and policy training.
The pipeline filters poor frames, locates the end effector, creates stable crops, and reports how much of each recording survives.
What you'll do
- Own sharpness, exposure, occlusion, near-duplicate, and region-of-interest checks on raw frames.
- Choose defensible thresholds based on the data distribution.
- Extract, crop, resize, and stabilize training clips from raw recordings.
- Reject unusable recordings rather than allowing low-quality clips to pass.
- Use a vision-language model to evaluate grasp completion and scene-label consistency when appropriate.
- Audit labels, manually sample results, and measure pipeline performance.
- Work with Claude daily while recognizing when its output should not be trusted.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on comfort with OpenCV, PIL, and NumPy on personal images.
- Ability to inspect distributions before selecting thresholds.
- Experience calling a vision-language model and understanding its cost.
- Habit of manually checking automated results.
- Ability to state what has not been verified.
