Role Overview
The University of Sydney is recruiting an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to support ICT initiatives across education, research, and innovation.
The role operates and evolves the University’s enterprise AI environment, with a focus on secure, reliable, and responsibly managed AI-enabled systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on operational reliability, model assurance, and responsible AI rather than building AI models from scratch.
Compensation
- Salary is listed as $131,108 to $147,858 plus 17% superannuation.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, deploy, and operationalise scalable AI-enabled platforms, solutions, and tools.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain AI-enabled platforms, services, and generative AI tools in cloud environments.
- Monitor observability, respond to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.
- Deliver software upgrades, security patches, performance tuning, and maintenance activities.
- Validate and monitor AI model performance, identify risks, and maintain accurate and explainable outcomes.
