Arena Operator

with the installation and maintenance of ice, including the operation of arena and cleaning equipment (e.g. ice edger, snow blower, floor scrubber) an asset.

First Aid and Automated Electronic Defibrillator certification must be obtained within sixty (60) days of employment at the employees’ expense.

Successful candidates would be required to successfully obtain the Basic Arena Refrigeration course offered through ORFA within six (6) months of starting in the Arena Operator position.

Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract of not more than 3 demerit points.

Must demonstrate corporate values of Belonging, Collaboration, Accountability and Innovation.

Ability to complete job related training.

Knowledge of MS Office an asset.

Ability to operate an ice re-surfacer; (Zamboni, Olympia) ice edger’s and whitewash unit.

Ability to operate other equipment and vehicles (tractor, golf cart, snowblower, lawn mower, vehicle with trailer etc.) Self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision combined with ability to be strong team player.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Knowledge of building operations such as maintenance/cleaning and monitoring building systems.

Strong attention to detail.

Able to perform the essential duties of the job including heavy lifting.

Ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check, including vulnerable sector.
