Role overview
Hands-on engineer delivering secure, production-ready integrations across legacy applications, vendor platforms, and AWS-hosted services.
Supports the GrantSolutions modernization program in partnership with a Solution Architect and senior technical leads.
Works with application, data, security, product, vendor, and federal stakeholder teams in a regulated environment.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and support Java/Spring Boot REST APIs, messaging flows, data transformations, orchestration, and interface services.
- Implement synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven, batch, and workflow-based integration patterns.
- Build secure AWS connectivity and access using least-privilege IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC connectivity, and secure API exposure.
- Design resilient integrations with retries, timeouts, idempotency, dead-letter queues, back-pressure controls, and recovery mechanisms.
- Support production deployment, incident response, capacity management, rollback planning, and operational transition.
- Document API contracts, data mappings, implementation details, test results, and operational support procedures.
