Application Engineering Technical Lead - I PI Tech Core - Tax Form and Delivery

Responsibilites

Design, build, and deliver scalable, resilient, and high-quality technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Lead adoption of modern engineering practices, including:Microservices architecture,API-first design and GraphQL Supergraph (Apollo Federation) architecture

Develop and support cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging services such as:AWS Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, Data platforms

Implement and maintain federated GraphQL APIs to enable seamless integration across distributed systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Drive engineering excellence through: Code quality improvement, Test automation, Observability and monitorin and Continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, and performance standards, including identity management and API security.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical growth and continuous learning.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Automated deployments

Support modernization of the Tax platform using cloud-native architectures, microservices, and modern UI technologies.

Enable unified data access across distributed applications through Apollo Federation/GraphQL Supergraph implementations.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 5 years of related work experience in software development and system integration.

Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.

Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs

Hands-on experience with GraphQL and Apollo Federation (Supergraph)

Deep knowledge of AWS Cloud (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, IAM, CloudFormation)

Front-end expertise with Angular, React, TypeScript, and Node.js

Experience with TDD/BDD testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jasmine, and Cucumber

Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, Maven, Artifactory, and Jira

Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry

Understanding of security, authentication (Okta), API security, and identity management

Proven experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and mentoring engineers

Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred: Experience with GenAI tools, SRE practices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
