Performs analysis and develops a detailed design of new and existing system requests. Writes new code and/or maintains existing code for on-line and batch programs that will provide the user with programs for reporting and updating databases as required. Prepares tests that will verify that the unit program is working, but more importantly, also show through integration and/or system testing that the new or revised programs does not adversely impact the operational integrity of the entire application system.

Keeps abreast of the latest technologies and provides consulting support to development staff regarding the implementation and use of the various technologies available within the department.
Writes operational documentation for new and revised applications with clear and concise instructions to enable them to run in a production environment. Writes and updates user documentation to describe systems and access abilities, as required.
Understand and adhere to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’ Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant technology field, or a Bachelor’s degree in a Business major with relevant systems experience.
A minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience in an analytical and programming environment with an emphasis on business knowledge acquisition, systems design, and COBOL .
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
