Role Overview
Michigan Anesthesiology Informatics and Systems Improvement Exchange (MAISE) is part of the University of Michigan Department of Anesthesiology. We are a group made up collectively of IT, business, and health care professionals. Our goal is to leverage IT to its fullest to improve patient safety and creates better health care outcomes.
In this position, you will work under the direct supervision of the MAISE Manager. Depending on your experience, on-the-job training on health systems environment will be provided. Your primary role is to learn the electronic health system and how they are used here at Michigan. Understanding the data schema and the context by which the data are being collected is critical in its subsequent downstream application. You will use relational databases like SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL or other relational databases. You will provide custom solutions impacting the electronic health record system, or its downstream customers like Finance, Billing, QA, and Research. The custom solution may involve updating current software developed in-house, or a brand-new solution that needs to be scoped, designed, and built from scratch.
This job is ideal for those looking to get in and grow in a health system environment. This job will expose you to the inner workings of a health system and the impact of IT on day-to-day operations.
