Role Overview
The App Engineer will build secure, interactive data and AI applications hosted natively on the Databricks platform.
The role bridges raw data and business solutions through Databricks Apps, Databricks SQL, Lakebase, and AgentBricks.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop frontend interfaces and API backends, including FastAPI routes to model-serving endpoints.
- Build dashboards and enterprise chat solutions powered by the Mosaic AI Agent Framework.
- Design secure, scalable application architectures for go-to-market requirements and custom SaaS applications.
- Connect applications to Databricks SQL through the Statement Execution API or Databricks SDK.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines with Declarative Automation Bundles across development, staging, and production workspaces.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data App Developer, or Full-Stack Engineer building interactive web applications.
- Proficiency in full-stack Python, DBSQL, and/or Node.js.
- Experience with Streamlit, Dash, Flask, FastAPI, React, or Express.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, Infrastructure as Code, and Databricks Asset Bundles.
- Experience implementing secure OAuth flows.
- Experience integrating data, Genie, and LLM frameworks into application backends.
