About the Role
Orange Blossom Studios seeks an experienced Animal Care Manager to lead animal care operations, welfare programs, and husbandry practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in animal care, with at least 2 years in a management role.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement animal care strategies, welfare programs, husbandry standards, operational procedures, and care protocols.
- Lead daily animal care operations including feeding programs, habitat maintenance, enrichment activities, behavioral observations, health monitoring, and welfare assessments.
- Collaborate with Veterinary Services, Facilities Management, Operations, Conservation, Education, Compliance, Procurement, and Executive Leadership.
- Establish and maintain animal welfare policies, SOPs, emergency response plans, biosecurity measures, and safety protocols.
- Monitor animal health, behavior, nutrition, habitat conditions, breeding programs, and enrichment effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, veterinary guidelines, accreditation standards, conservation requirements, and organizational policies.
- Monitor KPIs including animal health outcomes, welfare assessments, habitat quality, enrichment effectiveness, regulatory compliance, incident rates, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate preventive healthcare programs, veterinary treatments, quarantine procedures, rehabilitation activities, and disease prevention initiatives.
- Manage animal care budgets, resource allocation, inventory management, procurement of feed and supplies, and vendor relationships.
- Conduct animal welfare audits, facility inspections, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize animal management systems, recordkeeping platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, inventory systems, and reporting tools.
- Prepare animal welfare reports, operational dashboards, compliance documentation, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Wildlife Management, Animal Behavior, Biology, Agriculture, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in animal care, veterinary support, zoological operations, livestock management, wildlife conservation, or related roles.
- At least 2 years of experience managing animal care teams, welfare programs, or animal facility operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of animal husbandry, welfare standards, nutrition, enrichment programs, animal behavior, biosecurity, health monitoring, and facility management.
- Experience with animal management systems, veterinary recordkeeping software, inventory management platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and operational reporting tools.

- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, stakeholder management, training, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple animal care initiatives while balancing animal welfare, regulatory compliance, operational requirements, budgets, and organizational objectives.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in remote and hybrid environments for planning and administrative duties.
