Responsibilities
- Assist senior architects in documenting and maintaining security architecture designs
- Monitor cloud environments (GCP/AWS) for misconfigurations using CSPM tools
- Support integration and operation of security tools in CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning)
- Assist in executing vulnerability assessment test cases for web, mobile, API, and infrastructure
- Assist in administration and monitoring of endpoint protection solutions (AV/EDR)
- Support security monitoring by reviewing SIEM alerts and escalating anomalies
- Assist in planning and execution of phishing simulation campaigns
- Help maintain and update incident response playbooks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Recent graduates and fresh university leavers strongly encouraged; no prior professional experience required
- Academic projects, capstone work, or self directed labs in networking, cloud, or application security considered favorably

Description
- The Cyber Security Analyst (Defensive Security) supports the organization's security architecture and infrastructure protection functions under close guidance of senior security architects and engineers.
- Contributes to securing cloud environments, maintaining endpoint protection solutions, supporting secure SDLC practices, and assisting in security monitoring and incident response within a Fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Architecture Support: Assist senior architects in documenting and maintaining security architecture designs; support review of system designs; maintain architecture diagrams; participate in cross functional meetings.
- Cloud Security Support: Monitor cloud environments (GCP/AWS) for misconfigurations using CSPM tools; review cloud infrastructure configurations; track CI/CD pipeline security findings; learn cloud security concepts.
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Support: Assist in integrating security tools in CI/CD pipelines; review and triage SAST/DAST results; support source code review; maintain documentation of security checkpoints.
- Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Assessment Support: Execute pre defined vulnerability assessment test cases; support infrastructure vulnerability scanning; maintain vulnerability register; assist in re testing patched vulnerabilities.
- Endpoint & Infrastructure Security Support: Assist in administration and monitoring of endpoint protection solutions (AV/EDR); support infrastructure security reviews; maintain firewall ruleset documentation; support DLP monitoring; assist in backup and disaster recovery documentation.
- Controls Development & Project Support: Assist in developing security assessment checklists; support project management activities; help prepare status updates; assist in prioritizing security bugs.
- Security Awareness & Monitoring Support: Assist in planning phishing simulation campaigns; support preparation of security awareness materials; assist in security monitoring; maintain incident response playbooks; support threat intelligence gathering; assist in developing detection rules.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Recent graduates and fresh university leavers are strongly encouraged to apply — no prior professional experience is required.
- Academic projects, capstone work, or self directed labs involving networking, cloud, or application security will be considered favorably.
- No mandatory professional experience required.
- Any internship, academic project, or personal lab experience related to cybersecurity, networking, or software development is a strong advantage.
- Exposure to regulated environments (Fintech, banking) is a plus but not required.
