About the Role

Alliance Management

• Lead alliance governance and partner management from partner identification and contracting through implementation, onboarding, ongoing management, and off-boarding.
• Serve as the primary alliance contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Build trusted relationships and resolve issues across complex partnerships.
• Lead governance forums, launch meetings, business reviews, and other alliance touchpoints.

Operating Models and Risk

• Help design and optimize operating models for new and existing GCC markets.
• Identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate operational, contractual, and relationship risks.
• Ensure internal stakeholders understand and meet contractual commitments.
• Support partnership transitions and terminations in line with contractual obligations.

Brand Planning and Performance

• Lead brand planning, including development, implementation, and evaluation of plans aligned with business priorities.
• Define KPIs, monitor performance, and recommend adjustments based on results and market insights.
• Translate success factors and insights into initiatives and tactics that support business goals.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting for alliance operations and brand plans.

Compliance and Insights

• Generate and consolidate market and partner insights for planning and partnership effectiveness.
• Ensure activities comply with Vertex procedures, the Code of Conduct, and applicable local laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience.
• Experience in alliance management, strategic partnerships, or governance in pharmaceutical or biotech organizations.
• Experience in brand planning, commercialization, or strategic marketing in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Experience managing complex partnerships, governance structures, and contractual relationships.
• Strong business judgment, strategic thinking, problem-solving, financial, analytical, project management, and forecasting capabilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic, plus willingness to travel as needed.

Additional Qualifications

• An MBA or other postgraduate business qualification is preferred.
• Experience in a competitive therapeutic area is required; Cell and Gene Therapy experience is a plus.
• The role requires cross-functional influence, strong communication, and effectiveness in a matrixed, multicultural environment.

Flex Designation

• The position is hybrid-eligible or on-site eligible in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
• Hybrid designation permits remote work up to two days per week; on-site designation involves five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
• Flex status is subject to Vertex policy and may change.
