Role overview
Develop machine learning algorithms for a novel optical computing platform.
The technology targets visual object recognition, tracking, and next-generation optical neural network applications.
The role reports to the CTO and collaborates with Product Development and Hardware teams.

Core responsibilities
- Rapidly iterate, prototype, and test machine learning paradigms for optical systems.
- Understand the interaction between optical, software, and silicon components of the technology stack.
- Manage system trade-offs between components using data-driven analysis.
Essential requirements
- Strong understanding of machine learning principles, physics-informed learning, and hardware-in-the-loop principles.
- Experience developing and deploying ML systems in Python or MATLAB using PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or an equivalent framework.
- Understanding of optical systems, Fourier optics, and diffractive or holographic components.
