About the Role
First Logistics Australia is seeking an experienced Airfreight Operator for its freight operations team in Prestons.
The role takes end-to-end ownership of air import and export shipments and reports to the Freight Team Lead.
Responsibilities
- Manage air import and export shipments from booking or pre-alert through delivery and invoicing.
- Communicate with clients and provide proactive shipment updates.
- Coordinate overseas agents, airlines, terminals, customs brokers, transport providers, customs, and quarantine requirements.
- Manage availability, collections, transport, deliveries, CargoWise milestones, documentation, and job files.
- Resolve delays and exceptions, complete costing and invoicing, monitor profitability, and improve operational outcomes.
Experience and Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of Australian airfreight operations experience.
- Ability to independently manage import and export shipments from start to finish.
- CargoWise experience is essential.
- Commercial awareness of costs, margins, and profitability is sought for candidates toward the upper end of the salary range.
