Role Overview
The AI Engineering Intern will contribute to generative AI applications and agentic solutions for Bain clients.
The role provides hands-on exposure to the AI development lifecycle from early prototyping through production-ready deployment.
The role is learning-first, with mentorship, frequent feedback, and increasing responsibility.
Team Context
Bain’s AI, Insights & Solutions team designs and delivers AI-powered solutions that create measurable business impact.
The intern will work with consultants, product, design, architecture, engineering, data science, and client stakeholders.
The work involves translating ambiguous business problems into AI applications that can be piloted, scaled, and adopted.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to GenAI applications, AI pipelines, retrieval systems, fine-tuning, embeddings, and hybrid retrieval strategies.
- Assist with tool use, function calling, agent capabilities, orchestration, memory, state management, and tool integration.
- Support model experimentation, evaluation, observability, production deployment, and reusable evaluation components.
- Write clean, testable code and contribute to APIs and services across build, test, deploy, monitor, and iteration stages.
